Toronto the great?

A recent National Post article reports that Toronto's Public Health Board has ordered a survey on the trans-fat content of food at the city's restaurants and supermarkets if the federal government does not step up to the plate. Kudos to Toronto, right? Taking the issue upon itself to make our city a healthier place...but what about GTA'ers? Or the rest of Ontarians? Will this project benefit them at all or will they be left to fend for themselves out in suburbia? And better yet, why isn't the federal government stepping up and getting involved here? $$$ I would argue that the money invested in this project would be offset by a reduction in health care resulting from the use of trans fats! Come on Canada!
